HOW DOES A RESIDENT GHOST AFFECT YOUR HOMES SALEABILITY?!!

As I write this article it is Halloween and I am (somewhat guiltily!) ignoring the knocks at the door as all manner of ghosts ,demons and vampires queue up to demand a “treat” from my collection of Haribo sweets and mini mars bars!!

The atmosphere and aura which perpetuates itself on October 31st has got me thinking about how and if ghosts, gouls and hauntings effect the property market? As I have written in previous posts, there are numerous factors affecting a property’s saleability; ie location, condition, potential etc etc, however, what are our chances of a successful sale if factors from “the other side” come into play? Now, in my time as an estate agent, I have met and acted for a number of clients who cheerily admit to strange happenings in their home and who actively seek a property with similar experiences when they move!

However, I am not sure that all house buyers would be too excited about sharing their new home with a resident poltergeist, however friendly or benign it may be! So what are the official views and statistics about paranormal activity and the property market?
